Wednesday we received our LOA via FedEx from Heartsent. I came home between assignments to get the package. I had our i800 ready to go. I just needed the LOA, and the other supporting docs to sign and include in the i800 package to USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services). I passed the FedEx truck as I was entering the neighborhood. Yes! It came! I quickly grabbed it and drove to Panera Bread where Sam and his partner had decided to work from that day so that he could sign the papers. I had to do this quickly to get to my next assignment.
I went to my assignment, all the while willing it to end early so I could get to FedEx. It worked! Got out and headed straight to FedEx to overnight the package. I had already called our USCIS officer on Tuesday to let her know it is coming. She is so sweet! She said she would turn it around as quickly as possible. But we have to wait for it to get through the lockbox in TX. So it won’t even get to her for 7-10 days. Boooo. But here’s my ever so helpful FexEx dude ๐
Now we wait for approval of our i800, which basically says USCIS feels we are fit to adopt Aili. Then we will receive a letter from NVC (National Visa Center) authorizing Aili to be issued a visa to come to the US. The approval should take 2-3 weeks (cross your fingers for two!). Then we should receive the letter about a week after that.
There are only a few steps left!! I’ll outline them as they get closer. But now that we have our official letter of approval (and have been given permission from our agency to do so), I’d like to introduce to you to our second daughter, Aili Nicole Vacca ๐
