NVC Letter

I just got a .pdf of our NVC Letter! This letter is from the National Visa Center. It authorizes Aili to be issued a visa to come to the United States. We will get the visa while in China. This visa will make her an American citizen upon touch down of our plane on US soil!

Next step is to fill out and send the DS 260. This electronic form has just recently replaced the DS 230 paper form. I have started this form, but it’s a tad confusing. After I get some help from my agency today, I’ll send it off!

Then our agency rep in China will “drop off” all of our documents at the US Consulate in Guandzhou for our Article 5. This step is requesting official approval from the US government for the adoption of Aili. Unfortunately, he won’t be able to do this until next Tues 🙁 Ugh, for someone as much of a control freak as I am, this whole process is really kicking me in the ass. The rep will then “pick up” our Article 5 two weeks later. After that, we wait approx two weeks for travel approval (TA). Then…DUN DUN DUN…we go get our baby!
