We had a full day in Hong Kong today. All of us were wide eyed and awake at 6am. After hanging out in the room for awhile and Sam hitting the hotel gym, we got out and found a Starbucks.
Then we spent some time exploring the city. HK is a very busy city, and everyone is trying to get you to buy watches, handbags, and clothes. I’m very polite and realize these people are trying to earn a living, but I learned you have to be firm as well as polite or they will follow you asking again and again if you want to buy their product.
I’ve only been to China Town in NYC one time, but that seems very similar to here. The streets are bustling. Difficult to manage with a six year old with tons of energy. We were so happy to find Kowloon Park where Raleigh could get some of her energy out.
After a couple hours in our room, we went back out. There is a science museum and space museum across from our hotel. It looks like a big dome. We bought tickets to a movie there about Earth and how life can be sustained here. It was like an IMAX movie, but in a dome. Pretty cool! While we were waiting for the movie to start we walked out by the water. It’s just beautiful here.
After the movie, we came back to the hotel, had dinner, and now they are asleep. I, again, am up thinking about meeting my new child.
