Well, both flights went just about as well as they possibly could’ve. I got hypnotized a few weeks ago for my fear of flying. I believed it worked! Plus, the flights were so smooth! My kind of flying!
We arrived in Hong Kong at about 11:30am local time. That is 10:30pm Atlanta time. We got our bags, after Starbucks at the airport of course, and got a taxi to our hotel. It is so pretty here with the mountains right next to the water!
After we checked in and took showers we felt much better. I knew we needed to stay up and try to adjust to the new time zone even though we, especially Sam (he didn’t sleep too much on the planes), were dying to crash on our oh so comfy king bed. So we did. We went out to somewhat of a mall and walked around and had dinner. Afterwards we walked around the streets. It’s a bit like NYC, but on a smaller scale.
We didn’t last long. Raleigh held up very well, but quite rambunctious. And for two very tired, jet lagged parents it wasn’t the best combination. She thought running away and hiding from us was funny, even though we told her multiple times that it wasn’t. Not here. But all in all I’m super proud of her. She’s done damn well.
We’re now all in bed and both of them are passed out. I’m finding it hard to sleep thinking about how little time there is until I meet my second child. Only 2 1/2 days!! But for now, I have that time left to really soak up the last moments of a family of three. Tomorrow we’re planning on doing a tour. They have double decker buses with an open upper deck that we’ve all agreed upon. The weather is so nice here! Tomorrow’s our last day here before we head to Guangzhou.
Good night.
